Safe aseptic preparation in the pharmacy and on the ward

Abstract

Injectable medicines are prepared prior to use on the wards and in the pharmacy. In this article, we describe how to organise this process. A risk based approach is suggested to direct the aseptic preparation policy in a hospital. Examples from the Czech Republic and The Netherlands are used.
