In a comprehensive article, pharmacy professor Charles A Walton informed his readers about key competences for the specialism of drug information.1
The Drug Information Specialist provides close and continuing support to the clinician, increasing the latter's efficiency and effectiveness in patient care by supplying selected literature evidence in justification of specific drug usage practices.
He also mentioned the importance of critical analysis of the available drug literature and introduced his preferred term ‘clinical drug communication specialist’.
