The authors of this paper regret to advise that the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS-8) was unintentionally used without a licence agreement from Dr Donald Morisky. As a consequence of this, reference to the use of, and results from, the MMAS-8 has been removed from the abstract, method, results, discussion and references. These have been replaced with adherence data unrelated to the MMAS-8 that were also collected during the study.
