This is the latest in a small series of an online only edition of European Journal of Hospital Pharmacy. This, as previous ones, is issued around the time of the European Association of Hospital Pharmacists Annual Congress. By publishing these papers online, only the whole article is made available to readers internationally for a period of time, which increases the visibility of the authors. I usually identify one or two themes for online-only issues.

On this occasion, there are two themes: first, a pharmaceutics theme mainly around stability of medicines such as antimicrobial therapy, analgesics and permetrexed, etc; the second is generally around pharmacy services delivered in different countries together with some adverse drug reaction analyses. There is also an analysis of the utility of the WHO Essential Medicines List for an elderly population.

I hope this small selection of some 100 pages will prove useful in your practice.
