    The concept of evidence-based decision-making is slowly being integrated into pharmacy curricula throughout Europe. While pharmacists are being asked to use the best available evidence to favour optimal drug use in their clinical practice, they are minimally exposed to the best evidence of their role and their impact on patient outcomes. In the December 2013 issue, Tommy Erickson reinforced the need for pharmacists ‘to identify and optimally use their most important and trusted sources for improving health outcome for patients and customers’.1 At the same time, the European Association of Hospital Pharmacists (EAHP) is promoting the importance of evidence about the role and impact of hospital pharmacists.2 …
