Abdeltawab et al1 recently published a paper in the European Journal of Hospital Pharmacy which gave an excellent report of the effectiveness of metaraminol in critically ill patients with shock. After comparing the effects of norepinephrine with or without metaraminol, meaningful results were provided. As the authors reported, patients who received norepinephrine together with metaraminol needed a longer time for resolution of shock.
