In response to Russia’s full-scale invasion, Ukraine has shown remarkable resilience and innovation in meeting critical humanitarian needs. A standout initiative is the deployment of mobile pharmacy units, which provide essential medicines to remote areas of the country.
On 4 August 2023, the Ukrainian government approved a decree to establish these mobile pharmacy units in rural regions. According to the Ministry of Health, only 11% of Ukrainian villages have pharmacies, leaving residents of over 20 000 rural areas to travel long distances to obtain medication. This challenge is especially acute for those living near the frontlines.
